Strength train to a happier, healthier you

To say strength training has changed me is an understatement. I'm a very different person today from the timid one who walked into the gym in November of 2011. I'm stronger; mentally, physically and emotionally. I am more confident, happier, healthier. I love myself more! Wait, what?

You see strength training has a way of seeping into every aspect of your life. That moment, that very calming moment, when it is just you and the bar, completely focused, all other thoughts gone. No stress, no chaos.... just you against you. There is just something truly empowering about it.

I'm not most girls - Fitgirlsrock

I found myself through strength training. I found myself by lifting heavy shit. Picking it up and putting it down over and over again. It's not an easy path but maybe it's the HARD that makes it so damn great! After all, isn't that where the real learning and growing begins? When things are hard and uncomfortable. Palms sweaty, nervous yet excited.

Have confidence, practice, learn, grow and lift heavy. Get out of your comfort zone... let go of negativity, challenge yourself, be badass, be strong. The fit life, it’s not always about changing your body. Some days it's simply therapy. You and the bar. Alone. Focused. Driven.

Until next time,
