How many times have you said, "I’ll start Monday?", "I'll start next week?", "I'll start in the new year?"
Quit saying “tomorrow”… Quit saying “on Monday”….. Quit putting your life, your goals & your health on hold. Enough tomorrows & Mondays have gone by that you could have already accomplished your goal by now had you started.
People often say to me, I wish I liked working out like you do. I wish I could stay on top of my own fitness as well as you can stay on top of yours. To those people I say, why wish? Why not do?
People ask me how I manage to stay on top of my own personal fitness regimen while running a business, staying on top of household duties as well as coaching & training clients. The answer is simple. It would be hypocritical of me to expect more from my clients if I didn't also expect more of myself. I practice what I preach. I aim to be role-model & inspire others. Plus, my workouts are essential to my well-being, my health and my ability to be my very best for my clients & husband. Most times it seems my life is rushed & busy & that I am always 'ON' so to speak (phone, computer, emails, texts, social media, meetings and so on) so my workouts are my time for myself. I enter the gym, lift things up, put them down, get sweaty, get inspired and come back refreshed, fulfilled and ready to work. When I don't make my workouts a priority I feel more stressed & antsy than normal. It's my thing, my release and my time to work on me.
You see, in the grand scheme of things, words are just words. In the end, what matters is what you do, not what you say. As the saying goes, you are what you do, not what you say you’ll do. Good things don’t come to those who wait; they come to those who work. Ask yourself what’s really important and then have the courage to build your life around the answer.
So, if not now, when?
Cause I'm here to tell you that if you're waiting to be less busy or for the perfect time or until you feel 100% ready to begin, you’ll likely be waiting the rest of your life.
There is no such thing as the right or perfect time. And, if you continue to wait for it, you'll be waiting forever. Just get going. Take the moment and make it work for you.
The need to start something at just the 'right' time is almost always a justification to delay it altogether.
In nearly every instance the best time to start is NOW.
So, what are you really waiting for? Think about it.
Until next time,
